About

War of the Geeks is a game made in 48 hours by Anthony Tambrin (copet80) and Min Guo during a hackathon.

It's a (very) casual action battle game, but there is neither blood nor gore here, only armies of cute sprites fighting each other and spewing out stars upon being hit.

How to Play

Choose one from six available teams to play with, each with a unique weapon and attack, and command your team units to battle against five opponent teams all at once.

When your team "kill" other team units, they transform into your units, growing yours and shrinking them. Your mission is then: dominate the other teams until all of them become yours.

Strategise, dominate, and win!

Controls

Use the mouse (or trackpad) to point at a specific location on the ground (indicated by the war banner) to move your team units to that point. Click the left mouse button to command them to attack at that point.

is good, v fun game - paper a bit op tho haha. Managed to win w every race

Thanks yjzhou. Happy that you like it. Which race do you prefer playing with most?

Most definitely Rock, then longbowmen. Even though I think paper is probs the strongest overall, they aren't my favourite to play (plus rock does counter them with their range). Unfortunately, whilst Hammer looks like it'd be the most fun to play - it unfortunately doesn't translate that way especially due to their matchup with paper. Blade is a little too underwhelming imo. Scissors feels like the middle race, they're a little weak compared to the rest of the ranged races and paper but they still benefit from the range advantage and are somewhat fun to play but you need to play more sneakily and cleverly at the start. At least that's my perspective based off of how they feel.

That's an awesome analysis and feedback. Legend :)

this is nice hope i wll come again

Thank you! May I please ask what you enjoyed about the game?

the idea and thr gameplay/simple controls u could also add more classes for replayablityy\

Thanks for that feedback! I’m currently evolving it to be another game called Guilds n Glory. Would you be interested to test it?

Thanks for playing it @SoD. I’m currently evolving it to be another game called Guilds n Glory and would be releasing it on Steam in 2024. Would be awesome to get your thoughts on it if you’re keen to playtest it. Would you be interested?

I looked on Steam, the game looks great, of course I'll take care of it.

This is nice!

Thanks for checking War of the Geeks out!

I'm wondering if you'd be interested to playtest a game similar to this that I've built over the past few months?  I'd like to get your thoughts on it, especially in comparison with War of the Geeks.
